To be honest, I avoided purchasing from doTERRA for a long time…

I understood that essential oils carried fragrances that could affect my moods and emotions, but I had no idea how beneficial and therapeutic they could be for my whole body. Purity
Did you know that an essential oil could be labeled pure and therapeutic grade but not be pure…or therapeutic grade?
The term “pure” should mean that the essential oil is completely free from:
- harmful chemical solvents used in the extraction/distillation
- pesticides from cheaper farming practices
- contamination or spoilage through the course of manufacturing
- fillers and perfumes to beef up the volume and strengthen the fragrance (but diminish the therapeutic value)
…to name a few. With doTERRA’s “CPTG” standard, every drop in every bottle is Certified Pure! That’s the “CP” part of CPTG.
Therapeutic grade
This term, “Therapeutic Grade” is also unregulated, but it technically indicates that an essential oil is potent, and that all of its natural chemical constituents are fully expressed for maximum benefit. There are various factors that play into the potency of any essential oil, such as:
- Soil conditions where the plant was grown
- Harvest time (if harvested to early or too late, the beneficial compounds will be either immature or diminished)
- Climate conditions during growing season
- Method of distillation
- Storage and packaging once the oil has been manufactured
That’s the “TG” part of CPTG. The CPTG stamp guarantees that every drop of every oil in every bottle is RIGOROUSLY TESTED & CERTIFIED to be pure and therapeutic grade according to the highest known standards in the WORLD.
